Bike Week is the annual motorcycle rally in Daytona Beach, Florida. For ten days every March, Daytona is the site of extreme counterculture behavior, motorcycle racing, and bike-themed events, and draws hundreds of thousands of people internationally. Photographer, John Bentham first traveled to Daytona Bike Week in 1996 and has returned many times since. This book represents John's perception of the wild ride that is Daytona Bike Week, and the corresponding fever and obsession of riders and motorcycle enthusiasts who live and die by the credo - Any day on two wheels is a good day.
Bentham’s other projects include burlesque dancers, dirt-track car racing, Mad Max Wasteland Weekend, roller derby, and underground NYC clubs. Bentham has appeared in Hyperallergic, Life Magazine, The New York Times, People, Rolling Stone, Time, and Vanity Fair, and shot for AUDI, Mercedes-Benz, Pfizer, Saatchi & Saatchi, Sony, and Toyota. His portraits feature many public figures, including The Black Eyed Peas, Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Jimmy Kimmel, Eli Manning, and Evel Knievel.
